Sebastian Vettel was also in close quarters in P4 and just a tenth behind his major title rival.

Max Verstappen was cut a little adrift in P5 by being three tenths off Hamilton's pace, while Nico...

Daniel Ricciardo has said he would have "100 per cent" gone for an attempted overtake on Sebastian Vettel at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas opted not to try and squeeze past the race leader in the dying stages of a thrilling race at the Bahrain International Circuit, with one pundit suggesting the Finn "bottled" the opportunity to win.

If he was in that situation, Ricciardo said he would have had no hesitation in launching an attack on his former team-mate.

"I definitely...

Kimi Raikkonen’s mechanic Francesco Cigarini says the surgery for the double leg break he suffered in Bahrain went “OK”.

Cigarini, an experienced member of Raikkonen’s pit crew, was hit during a botched pit stop in Sunday night’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

As Raikkonen pulled away from his pit box, given the green light to do so, Cigarini and another mechanic were still busy changing his rear left tyre with Cigarini standing in front of the wheel.

He was hit by the Finn with footage...

After the bore-fest that was Australia, Bahrain delivered in both picturesque setting and drama from start to finish.

Formula 1 will not implement any changes, at least not this season or the next, to improve overtaking after the teams failed to reach an agreement in Bahrain.

The team principals met with the FIA in Bahrain on Saturday to discuss the sport’s lack of overtaking.

The FIA had called the emergency meeting after the season-opening Australian Grand Prix saw just five overtakes after the opening lap.

Motorsport’s governing body put a proposal on the table that included bigger DRS flaps...

Sebastian Vettel says he'll walk away from Formula 1 when he is either too slow, or not passionate enough about the sport.

This weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix marks the German's 200th grand prix start, putting him in an elite club.

However, unlike the last driver who reached 200 – Nico Rosberg – Vettel, 30, has no plans to quit F1 any time soon.
"No, you just give up when you're too slow," he told Corriere Della Serra when asked if there was a right age to stop racing.
"Or when you...

Lewis Hamilton will only be able to start Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix no higher than P6 after picking up a five-place grid penalty for a gearbox change.

According to Mercedes, the Brit picked up a hydraulic leak at the Australian Grand Prix and was fortunate to finish the race with it, and mechanics have been unable to repair the gearbox for it to last a six-race cycle.
Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas has also changed his gearbox for this weekend, but as he picked up his gearbox...
